Residents at Ashley House marked National Loaf Day in the simplest (and tastiest) way by enjoying a selection of different breads during their tea and coffee break.

To celebrate the day, we brought in a variety of loaves for residents to try, giving everyone the chance to sample something new or pick a familiar favourite. The photos show residents relaxing with a slice of sweet loaf and a warm cup of tea, enjoying a calm moment together and chatting as they tucked in. Another image shows the different slices laid out and ready to be served, adding a little extra choice to the afternoon break.

Food-focused activities like this are a lovely way to support wellbeing. They encourage conversation, bring people together at the table, and can spark memories of favourite treats and home baking. Most importantly, they turn an everyday tea break into something a bit more special without any fuss.

It was a pleasure to see residents enjoying their loaf and hot drinks, taking time to pause, socialise and savour the flavours. National Loaf Day gave us a warm, friendly reason to slow down and share a simple enjoyment, good food, good company, and a proper cup of tea.
