On Saturday, Ashley House enjoyed a wonderfully creative afternoon of flower arranging, as residents and staff worked together to prepare for Mothering Sunday.
With vases on the table and fresh blooms ready to be styled, residents created arrangements full of colour and care. The finished displays were truly uplifting, from classic roses to smaller accent flowers and foliage, each vase had its own personality. In the photos, you can see residents proudly posing with their work, smiling alongside arrangements featuring yellow and white roses, as well as pink roses mixed with greenery.
Alongside the main arrangements, staff also prepared thoughtful little gifts for Mothering Sunday. Small posies were put together, and decorative bags with chocolates were made ready to give out to the ladies on the day. One image shows these finishing touches beautifully: a vase of roses alongside the neatly arranged gift bags, adding an extra sense of occasion.
Activities like this offer much more than a lovely result. Flower arranging encourages creativity and gentle focus, and it’s also a great way to spend time together, chat, and enjoy the sensory pleasure of fresh flowers. Most importantly, it helped everyone feel involved in marking Mothering Sunday in a warm and meaningful way at Ashley House.
