Residents at Ashley House enjoyed a lively musical session in celebration of Jazz Day, thanks to a wonderful visit from Roddy and his guitar.
Roddy performed a varied selection of jazz and blues, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere for everyone in the home. Live music has a special way of drawing people in, and this session encouraged plenty of interaction, with residents listening, clapping, singing along and joining in with the rhythm.
The photographs capture the enjoyment of the afternoon beautifully. Roddy is seen singing and playing his guitar, while Wendy and Violet were pictured dancing together as other residents clapped along. Other lovely moments include Mary smiling as she listened, Wendy dancing, and Wendy also singing along with Roddy, clearly enjoying the music and the occasion.
Music sessions like this can play an important role in wellbeing, helping to lift spirits, encourage movement and create opportunities for connection. Familiar rhythms and live performance often spark confidence and participation, whether through dancing, singing or simply enjoying the shared experience with others.
At Ashley House, Roddy’s visit brought plenty of energy and personality to Jazz Day, giving residents a chance to relax, join in and enjoy the uplifting effect of live music together.
