Residents at Ashley House have been getting creative by making large paper flowers to brighten the wall in the home’s conservatory.
Using coloured card, glue and sticky squares, residents enjoyed taking part in a hands-on craft activity that encouraged focus, creativity and conversation. The session gave everyone the opportunity to work at their own pace while contributing to something that would be proudly displayed and enjoyed by others in the home.
The photographs show some lovely moments from the activity. Wendy is pictured carefully adding sticky squares to the petals of her pink flower, while Barb works on her lilac flower with the same concentration and care. Other images highlight the finished designs, including bright flowers in pink, yellow, lilac and purple, as well as a close-up of a particularly striking lilac flower with purple inner petals and a yellow centre.
Creative activities like this can be a simple but meaningful way to support wellbeing, helping residents to stay engaged and express themselves while enjoying a calm and sociable atmosphere. It is also especially rewarding when the finished work becomes part of the home environment, adding colour and a personal touch to shared spaces.
The completed flowers now look wonderful on display in the conservatory, and residents can feel proud of the part they played in making Ashley House even brighter and more welcoming.
